1. Scope of Responsibilities
Lead a team of Piping Engineers and designers in all respects, support & guide the team to ensure design integrity in all the projects, proposals & implement Petrofac Piping Design procedures through the team.
2. Primary Duties
Resource management within team and supervision of Piping engineers, designers and technical personnel.
Work as technical expertise during various phases of project execution and proposal engineering. Identify & manage team resources and development of resources for short term & long term needs.
Lead peer review group for technical integrity check of proposal/ projects.
Carry out the role and responsibilities as a Functional Manager for the team.
Work with Project, Customers and vendors to resolve technical issue.
Assist in Promoting innovation, departmental improvement and team working.
Assist Discipline Manager in development of design guides and procedures.
Assist Discipline Manager in developing strategies for continuous improvement of knowledge base, cost consciousness, quality and safety in response to demands of EPC business.
Provide feedback to Discipline Manager for the employee performance evaluations, establish performance criteria, identify employee strengths & weaknesses and recommend training & development requirements.
Shall assist in recruitment tasks in identifying qualified engineers and designers.
Perform related duties as & when required by Discipline Manager.
3. Job/Cost Impact
Provides technical support and guidance to Principal Engineers / Senior Engineers in converting the project from concept to detailed engineering.
4. Decision Making Authority
Decisions limited to administrative and technical issues related to work in Consultation with Managers, Discipline Manager on main issues which may affect discipline performance. Works in tandem with lead engineers on mobilization/demobilization of personnel.
5. Supervisory Responsibility
Supervises Principal Engineers, Sr. Engineer’s, all engineers & designers.

8. Physical Effort and Work Environment
Duties performed in main office mostly in air-conditioned surroundings. Occasionally incumbent would require travelling to sites and vendor workshops. Approximately, 40% time spent in verification of project deliverables in capacity as Technical Authority, 20 % time spent in meetings, 20% time in discipline administration and 30% in quality & technical development.
9. Minimum Requirement
Bachelor degree in engineering with minimum 15 years’ experience at least 10 years’ experience in engineering consultancy or EPC company in Oil & Gas petrochemical industries.
